The US label known for its bohemian women's pieces and eclectic home decor is setting up shop in The Dubai Mall

For fans of the well-known brand who've long wished to shop in person, rather than just online, good news is in store.

US fashion and homeware label Anthropologie is set to open its first branch in the UAE, with a debut shop in The Dubai Mall.

The brand, which stocks womenswear, accessories, home decor and furniture, has more than 240 stores across the world, mostly in the US, UK and Canada.

A spokesperson for The Dubai Mall confirmed to The National that the brand was coming to the Downtown Dubai venue, though added an opening date was yet to be confirmed.

It also remains to be seen which of its categories Anthropologie will bring to the UAE.

The label, founded in 1992, is part of URBN brands, which also owns fashion giants Urban Outfitters and Free People. Urban Outfitters made its UAE debut in 2019, with a flagship store at The Dubai Mall. Another branch is set to open at Abu Dhabi's Yas Mall as part of the venue's upcoming revamp.

Currently, Anthropologie only offers online shopping to the UAE, with a shipping fee of $55. Restrictions also mean select beauty products, furniture and large items cannot be delivered outside the US.

A collection of Anthropologie home decor is also available at local e-commerce site, Namshi.

The brand is known for its bohemian sensibilities, and is often pegged as the older sister of Urban Outfitters.

Fashion-wise, expect floaty summery dresses, relaxed separates and plenty of vibrant prints. Accessories include leather goods, sunglasses, scarves and hats, while Anthropologie also typically stocks a range of cult footwear labels, including Veja sneakers and Birkenstock sandals.

When it comes to homeware, the label is known for its richly patterned textiles, from rugs to bed linen, as well as whimsical objets d'art, eclectic tableware and aspirational coffee-table books.
