UAE fast food sector revenue to reach $4.5bln in 2022

Revenue from the fast food sector will outstrip revenue from full-service restaurant

The UAE’s fast food sector revenue will exceed $4.5 billion in 2022, outstripping full-service restaurants which will see its revenues at $2.34 billion, according to data from the Fast Food and Café Convention held in Dubai.

Residents will also spend $705 million in the coffee and tea sector in 2022, up from $584.5 million in 2018, and $42.2 million on ice cream, up from $35.4 million in 2018,

The fast-food sector will grow from $3.66 billion in 2018, while the full-service restaurant sector will reach $2.34 billion in 2022, up from $1.94 billion.

Innovation, food-technology, cloud kitchens, change in consumer behaviour and touchpoints are some were among the topics discussed at the event.
