Midas touch: Lexus launches limited-edition golden LX570 in the UAE
For those days when a normal Lexus isn’t quite head-turning enough, a limited-edition gold version of the LX570 has been launched in the UAE.
There is only one in the Emirates at the moment and, while the brand describes those who will get one as being in an 'exclusive pool', the number of vehicles that will finally be produced is apparently dependent on the public’s reaction to the new hue.
They're calling it the Gold Edition, perhaps unsurprisingly. And that colour is certainly distinctive, especially on a car designed for multi-terrain use.
Commenting on the launch of the new vehicle, Lexus brand director, Saad Abdullah, said: “It will be hard to miss anyone driving this stunning vehicle.”
Inside the new shiny shell, the brand’s flagship SUV still has all the power you’ll need. The 5.7-litre V8 engine is still in situ, giving it a notable towing capacity.
Looks-wise, as with the recent Signature and Black editions of the LX570, the Gold Edition comes with a new grille and reinvigorated front and rear bumpers.
If you want to get up close and personal to the new vehicle, you shouldn’t have to travel too far, as Al-Futtaim Lexus is taking it on a tour across its showrooms until the first week of March.
The tour started out at the main Lexus hub in Dubai Festival City, and the LX570 will be in the brand’s Sharjah venue until Saturday, January 23.
The Sheikh Zayed Road showroom is the next stop-off, from Sunday to Saturday, January 24 to 30, followed by Ajman from Monday to Saturday, February 1 to 6, Ras Al Khaimah from Sunday to Saturday, February 7 to 13, Fujairah from Sunday to Saturday, February 14 to 20, and Dubai Investment Park from Sunday to Saturday, February 21 to 27.
The Gold Edition culminates its journey in Al Ain from Sunday to Saturday, February 28 to March 6.
