Infiniti QX50 launched in Dubai

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, July 7, 2018

Infiniti, a luxury automotive brand, recently debuted the new Infiniti QX50 premium SUV in Dubai, UAE, at an exclusive event hosted at the Dubai Design District.

The model features a range of unique elements including world-first technologies, stand-out design and unrivalled interior, said a statement from the company.

The new QX50 pairs Infiniti’s signature ‘Powerful Elegance’ design philosophy with the company’s innovative VC-Turbo engine, the world’s first production-ready variable compression ratio engine, it said.

Markus Leithe, managing director Middle East at Infiniti Motor Company, said: “The Middle East is a key focus region for Infiniti globally and the new QX50 is one of the most important vehicles we’ve unveiled here in the past year.”

“Our discerning customers in this region will appreciate the unique and attractive features of this car, including its striking design, dynamic versatility and advanced technology,” he said.

“The new model boasts advanced safety features and is the first vehicle in the world to be powered by an engine that can vary compression ratio on the fly, thanks to our groundbreaking VC-Turbo engine. We very much look forward to seeing this car on the region’s roads from September,” he added.

Infiniti’s new four-cylinder 2.0-liter VC-Turbo (variable compression turbo) gasoline engine is the world’s first production-ready variable compression ratio engine, and is one of the most advanced internal combustion engines ever created, said a statement.

The VC-Turbo changes its compression ratio seamlessly with an advanced multi-link system, continuously raising or lowering the pistons' reach to transform compression ratio – offering the power of a sprinter and the efficiency of a marathon runner, the best of both worlds.

The QX50 will be available at Infiniti showrooms in the Middle East from September. Its prices start at $44,400 excluding VAT.
