UAE participates in Clean Energy Meeting in Canada

United Arab Emirates, February 3, 2018

The UAE is participating in the preparatory meeting for the 8th Clean Energy Ministerial Meeting, now running here, where innovative sustainability initiatives have been discussed.

The meeting occasioned a review of the renewable energy initiatives approved during 2017 in addition to new initiatives for the 2018, including one on using nuclear power as a clean energy source.

On the sidelines of the forum, Dr. Matar Al Neyadi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Energy and Industry, who is leading the UAE delegation to the meeting, met with the Forum Secretary General as well a number of international officials, where prospects of mutual cooperation in areas of energy and innovation were discussed.

Attending the meeting were Engineer Fatma Al Shamsi, Assistant Under-Secretary for Electricity, and Future Energy at the Ministry of Energy and Industry and a number of Ministry officials.

The 8th Clean Energy Ministerial Meeting will held in Copenhagen in May.
