Dubai-based Aras Group said it has helped arrange Dh3 billion ($816.5 million) worth of funds for nearly 100 projects across a diverse portfolio ranging from real estate, renewable energy, hospitality, start-ups, refineries and ships in the UAE.

With tighter lending regime, alternative investment and private financing are flourishing in the UAE due to higher demand for capital, said experts.

Global Infrastructure Partners is nearing an agreement to sell its stake in London’s Gatwick Airport to a consortium that includes some of the fund manager’s own investors, people familiar with the matter said.

South Asian hospitality chain OYO Hotels plans to have 12,000 rooms in 150 UAE hotels by 2020, the company announced.

In a statement, the company announced that it will begin operations in Dubai, Sharjah and Fujairah before expanding into the UAE's other emirates.

IndiGo, India's largest low-cost carrier by market share, is on an expansion mode in the Gulf. After Dubai and Sharjah, the airline is set to commence operations from the UAE capital.

Targeting the big expatriate population from the Indian state of Kerala, Kochi-Abu Dhabi (Dh355) non-stop services will start from Monday and Kozhikode-Abu Dhabi (Dh448) from Tuesday.
