Abu Dhabi is preparing to launch new regulations on organising holiday homes as demand for alternatives to hotels and hotel apartments continues to grow.

According to the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi, the new rules will ensure all properties available to holiday-makers, which will be available on all international online platforms, are licenced and meet Abu Dhabi's service standards.

The regulations will also level the playing field for the sector as current unlicenced and therefore unregulated units increase pressure on the prices of hotel rooms"...

UAE-based sustainable and smart transportation company ION has partnered with key Sharjah government entities - Sharjah City Municipality (SCM) and the Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (Sewa) - for the smooth supply, installation and operation of public electric vehicle charging stations across the emirate.

Despite the stiff competition from bigger markets Dubai and Abu Dhabi, both the northern emirates of Sharjah and Ajman remained strong contenders for affordable, family-friendly living in the UAE last year, according to Emirati property portal Bayut.

Transactions have also gone up in these cities thanks to the attractive prices and innovative resolutions passed by the governments in both cities, state Bayut in its end of year market report for 2019.

According to the Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department, 61,357 transactions were recorded last year, up 13.4% compared to the property transactions in 2018.

For development works in newly-created Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has allocated Rs30,757 crore and Rs5,958 crore, respectively, for the financial year 2020-21.

In the Lok Sabha, Sitharaman said, 'The government is fully committed to supporting the all-round development of the newly-formed Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh. Accordingly, an amount of Rs30,757 crore has been provided for the financial year 2020-21. An amount of Rs 5,958 crore has been provided for the Union Territory of Ladakh.'

The UAE and Kazakhstan plan to implement joint investment projects worth about $11 billion, the country's President has announced during a visit to Abu Dhabi.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said the two countries have maintained 'exemplary relations and cooperation in many respects' in comments published by state news agency WAM.
