Al-Majid Motors Co., distributor of Kia vehicles in the UAE, has announced the recall of more than 3,200 units of its Carnival model due to safety reasons.

The company announced that the safety recall is in coordination with the UAE's Ministry of Economy campaign to inspect the Integrated Circuit Relay Box module and change it as it might exhibit damage due to moisture ingress.

Global auto giant Audi has appointed Uwe Hermann, a regional industry veteran as the sales director for the Middle East region.

In his new role, he will lead the sales for the Audi brand across 11 countries, 12 importers and 24 dealer facilities in the GCC and Levant region, said a statement from Audi.

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has endorsed new testing standards for electric, hybrid and self-driving vehicles to ensure that the emirate plays a “pioneering” role in their development and see that they are on the streets of Dubai “in the near future”, it was announced on Monday.

The Roads and Transport Authority, RTA, and the General HQ of the Dubai Police announced the awarding of the contract for the trial run of the Traffic Incidents Management, TIM, scheme to Emirates Transport.

In just three days, motorists driving in Abu Dhabi will face fines if they go faster by even 1kmph than the posted speed limit as the emirate removes the 20kmh speed limit buffer.

Abu Dhabi Police had announced earlier that the speed limit on the roads will be revised and motorists would no longer enjoy the buffer from August 12 onwards. Speed limits on highways and internal roads would be increased by the buffer margin from that date.
